2010-07-18 The Open was a great experience. It played stupidly easy on thursday morning for us but I didn't take advantage of it due to not getting it close enough to the hole and not holing out well enough. The weather switch to brutal winds on friday afternoon and we had to stop play for a bit. It played really tough and The R&A put the pins in ridiculous places to protect the course from low scoring. Combine that with poor play and I missed the cut.
My last Open Championship in 2008 at Birkdale I finished 19th and this year I felt so much more out of control of my ball flight then I felt back then. I've had a good run since 2008 but now finding the swing changes really tough to handle out on the course. I believe in them but I have to have patience and work a lot more on ball control and short game to score better.
Enough serious talk.
Alex Noren Junior Open turned out to be a great tournament this year and more info and pics are coming any day now. An edited movie will also be out within a week so that will be fun to watch. I haven't seen anything from it yet either. I'd love to work more with juniors and set up the course for the tournament in a way that they will learn a lot and enjoy it to the max.
Found a gym...feels great to be back doing it all out again. I've been holding back a touch due to the hectic playing schedule but I love how you feel when you try your hardest in the gym.
Complex strength. Best exercises to get back fast into shape.
Never ever give up:)
Nordea Masters at Bro Hof Slott GC in Stockholm, Sweden coming up this week.

I watched you warm up on the range sunday at Birkdale in 2008 and was seriously impressed with quality of strike and strong ball flight! Was interestin to watch you hit balls thursday at St. Andrews and see how the swings evolved, looked more on plane maybe? lol i also watched bubba watson hit drivers and that guy is just insane!! Hope to see you win soon.reply

Hey Alex, I really enjoy your website its a great read. I would love to see some footage of your swing on line and in particualr of these swing changes that you are speaking of. You had posted some a couple of months back and that was great it would be cool to see where it is at now. Good luck for this weekreply

Hi Alex,Good to hear that you have re-grouped, know where you are going with the swing changes and have honestly assessed the way forward.
It was a tough week and after the first day's scoring by the field you would have been up against it anyway even without the very difficult conditions.
I hope my last comments didnt come over too harsh. You have a massive talent and should be right up there with the other guys near the top of the leaderboard. You have what many describe as the best swing on tour and a hard-working ethic. You should be Top 20 minimum with your talent.
I want you to do well so good luck for the upcoming tournaments!!

Sorry not to see you make the cut at St. Andrews but the weather really did throw everything it could at you - all 4 seasons in one day I think - but hey ho here we are it's Monday and another week....You must be feeling on a "high" going into the tournament this week - it'll be a whole different ball game so to speak with playing on both a course you know very well and love to bits...plus a home crowd behind you too - what more could you ask for.....let's just keep our fingers crossed that Mother Nature behaves herself...lol
Good luck over the next few days and I'm so looking forward to watching all that happens on Thursday and over the weekend.

Alex,I followed you for the first 8 holes and then the last 4 on Friday at St. Andrews. It was seriously cool to see you and colin for the first time after being a keen follower of you on yourblogand your results on tour. I felt you definitely had a presence on the course but just felt that there were not enough people who knew you, but I'm confident that once you win several events you will gather the crowds that say daly had in the group behind you. You looked pretty confident when hitting your drive on 3 and that was better than many other players could hit.
Your swing was as good as I thought with your big hip turn and balanced follow through.
Always remember 'Confidence doesn't come from winning. Winning comes from confidence. And that confidence comes from hard work.'
Peace bro x
