Good mood
2010-05-24
In a seriously good mood this morning. Just came up with a good plan for the next few weeks. I'm gonna try to get into "college mode". Not as much flying around, no F1 watching, nothing else than golf. In college, we just went out to the course every day around lunch time and went back to the apartment and the books (that's a lie) and then back again the next day. We had so much time for practice. Now, I try to have time for everything. Flying here, flying there. Not the best way if you want to get back into contention.
My swing work with Rikard Fors is going good. I'm gonna give it more time now. A few days at his place will do a lot of good.
Last week at Wentworth was a good one. Didn't finish up too well but it was still good. The changes made the course tough. The greens were rock hard over the weekend and you had to really play strategic. The pins were tucked away and a lot of the times, you were happy with a 8 meter putt for birdie. Normally, we go for pretty much everything:) The greens are usually softer and therefore shortsiding yourself isn't too bad. Here, you had impossible bunker and flop shots when shortsiding. Fun sometimes to try the impossible. Actually, you can always stop the ball with the flag or the hole so nothing is impossible.
The course had two different courses within it. 1st hole to the 11th was the first. You try to be under par here to give yourself an opportunity to post a good score. 12th and in played really tough.
The average clubs into the last holes:
12th par 4: Driver, 6 iron
13th par 4: Driver, 5 iron
14th par 3: 6 iron
15th par 4: 3 wood, 2 iron (nowhere to hit the driver)
16th, 17th, 18th played shorter but hundred times trickier with the new changes.
Not trying to be negative, more just to give you a feel for the course you might seen on TV over the weekend.
Had a really sweet workout session yesterday and heading for another one now to get in a good state of mind before the three days with Rikard.
My swing is a lot better already and we are working on getting it shorter and more on plane. It will look a bit more upright instead of around. Somebody sent me this from youtube. It's from last week.

Record breaker
2010-05-23
I've just broken a record. I've played 18 holes, had lunch and now chilling in the player's lounge and the leaders still haven't teed off yet! No good! ;)
Tired of not competing. Just hanging out at tournaments is no fun.
Practise ahead.

Day 3 Wentworth
2010-05-22
Wentworth is kicking a lot of but this week, including mine. But, I'm not giving up.
One more round and if I can keep my frustrated head out of my game I got a chance for a good finishing score.
I really want to play well and play consistently well in the future and I'm now at a cross road wether how much I'm going to train and how many tournaments I'm going to play. The last few months I've put in a lot of work on my swing with Rikard Fors. To change the swing and still play good golf is a tough thing to do and therefore it's very important to have enough time to train away from tournaments. I've tried to work on my swing during tournaments but it's so hard to do and it makes it tough to compete the next day. So as they say; "If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you've always got". Or something like that. So I'm now deciding on what the best thing is to do forward.
What about Robert Karlsson???!!! Unreal, 62 after leaving yesterday thinking he'd missed the cut. He's now 2 back with one more round.
Thanks to all support I've got this week from all you blog readers who were out on the course last few days. You are all sooo great and thanks a lot!!! You make me happy and wanting to get better!

Backflipper video upon request
2010-05-21
Some of you guys asked how I do the backflipper. Here is the old video when we first figured it out:) It's not a very useful shot but it was kinda fun!
It's a little bit hard to describe how I hit it, but I try to have all the weight on the right leg at impact and scoop the ball backwards. Try it:)
