No sleep when I want it the most
2010-04-15 Tee time at 6.40 AM (yes, you read correctly, AM!) and I can't sleep. Great! It's typical. All the other nights I haven't stayed awake past the "previously on 24" introduction on episode 10, season 8 of the TV-show 24 and the night I really have to fall asleep I can watch the whole episode and write this blog entry...
Anyway. -1 today. Feels good. Game a lot better and the future is looking a tiny bit brighter...I can see good things coming. Just don't know when. Hopefully tomorrow morning in the frost here in China. Between 5-10 degrees today. I don't have high hopes for anything higher celsius wise at 5.40 AM tomorrow when I warm up.
Hope it's warmer wherever you are!
All the best to you and have a sweet night!

5 hours of pain
2010-04-14 4 degrees and rain. 5 hours of pro-am. Going for a brutal massage to get warm. Here are some pics.
Taken from the hotel. 3 nine hole courses of all different design. We are playing the "wetland" and the "links" 9's. Prettey good course. Gary Player design.
One of the warm spots. Green tea and dumplings. Sweet:)
Looks a bit weird. Probably ten times stronger than in Europe...
Niclas Fasth is loving the weather as well.
Shoe delivery. Designed them myself on footjoy.com. Don't know about the blue ones. Looked a bit less crazy on the website. I like the yellow and gray though.
China is treating us good otherwise. Can't believe how normal it feels to be in China. I guess a hotel and a golfcourse can't look that different in different continents.
Back soon!

New strategy!
2010-04-13 Part of the team is assembled. Feels good to see Colin and Pierre again and they are both in a great mood.
I've now planned my future golf practise a little different than in the past. I'm very tired of being frustrated on and off the course and I believe the reason is that I don't have a plan to succeed. My results have been worse than in the past and usually I don't care too much because I know better results are coming because I've beleived in my practise routine. Lately, the lack of a plan has made me feel lost and that makes me easily frustrated. I was embarassad after hearing that I looked tired and frustrated on the course in Marocco when they showed me on TV. I want to look like I have energy and that I want to win. Not the opposite.
So now, my change in planning and practising is already making me feel better on and off the course and now it's easier for me to believe I'll succeed in the future.
There is nothing I love more than playing good golf and I'm ready to do about anything to do it. This new regimen will give me a better possibility to reach my goals.
For example, this week the plan is to be in the right frame of mind and in a form which will give me the best possiblities to win the tournament.
- Monday practise routine: 50 ball putting drill (all competetive putts 1-5 meters), 70 bunker shots which will improve my overall shortgame, 2x 48 ball technique drill on the range, 30 minutes running on 12 km/h and 6 abs exercises.
- Tuesday practise routine: 10 minutes running warm-up, legs and shoulder workout 30 minutes, 50 ball putting drill, 1x 48 ball technique drill, 25 balls target practise on the range, 9 hole practise play on the course (competetive match with Edfors, Ilonen and Erlandsson). 2x 18 hole long putt drill.
- Wednesday will be a pro-am day and some more competetive training to really feel in the right mode for thursday.
With this amount of practise and preparation combined with the training I've done at home I still feel energized for the tournament rounds. I can then tweek around with this plan to really make it work but at least I've got all written down to compare weeks from now on.
Here are the two awesome "coaches" (Colin is a great mix between a coach and a caddie to me) that are here this week in China.
Pierre is always great as well! It's great to have them here. They make me train just hard enough...
Hope you are all good and I really want to thank all of you who are supporting me!!! You are all great and you make me work harder and better than before! I owe you a lot! Thanks!!! And good luck with your own games!!!

Foggy China
2010-04-12 China looked exactly the same as when I left here in November after playing the HSBC; foggy! I remember being scared to death in the taxi ride in November because you could only see about 5 meters in front of the car. This time, the driver looked like it was his first time in a car. He didn't know he had side or rear view mirrors. Scary stuff. I've never seen so many angry drivers screaming and honking at us. It was supposed to take us 2 hours from the airport to the course. It only took us 3,5 hours. It didn't matter. I needed some extra sleep.
And it's not like I could've helped him to find the way either. These signs are pretty cool though. I've developed a bad habit of not knowing where to go these days. Agents and travel agents do a good job and I'm getting very spoiled. Not good. I think I need to get involved more in the travelling to not get too spoiled and being able to help the driver if he's lost:)
Tano Goya is pumped to be here. I know it doesn't look like it but he is one of the most motivated guys out here.
I've got four weeks to down this big thing.
Big and foggy looking hotel. Nice inside though! Have to take care of Pierre "the man without a room" Johansson this week as well. After debating with the receptionist for a while they finally gave us a suite. All of a sudden, I like Pierre!
Running is on the schedule. Later.
