Awesome finish!
2010-08-23
Tomorrow is our last day in Monaco for a while now. Over to Finland and Mikko Ilonen on wednesday. A good 5 days of practice and playing golf with him is exactly what I need. Monaco has been great! Lots of golf, tennis, workouts and running. And some beach time to make it look like a vacation:) I'm not too good at vacations.
Thinking about getting a bike so I can bike up the mountains down here. A lot of the skiers who live here do that to train legs and endurance. Sounds like fun training. I guess it's tough for me to hang with those guys in the beginning but after a while maybe. Skiers have stupidly strong legs. Enough talking about other guy's legs...A bike would be fun!
My heavy club training is going well. That's all I hit now on the range.
Got a great question about what we European Tour pros would shoot on a regular Swedish golf course from the yellow tees (regular men's tees). The guy who asked me says that everybody tells him that we would kill the course and always shoot 65. My answer to that would be:
The courses we play are about 1000 yards or meters longer than the average Swedish Course. We also have narrower fairways, thicker rough, faster and firmer greens, tougher pins and more hazards. The average tour pro would shoot low on a regular Swedish course but I don't think he would shoot 65 every time, but pretty close to it. We get used to tough conditions and that's the key to it all; To train on tough courses and in tough conditions. There is no substitute to that.

I love bunker practice. It makes my whole game better. When my chipping and pitching is off, I always practice a lot in the bunker.
Boat love ahead:
It took me 1 hour and three gyms to find on that was open. Opening hours in Monaco are really sketchy. But got in a great session and liking the fact that I'm back in the same shape as before the long run of tournaments this summer. It's tough to keep up the work outs when competing a lot.
REWARD and good food after a workout! Raw meet is awesome!
Looking forward to Suomi country!!!
See you later!!!

Going pro.
2010-08-21
Felt great to be back at Terre Blanche. Shot 8 under today so my game is coming back to life it feels like. It's been sleeping for a while but working with the heavy club has awakened my game. Not a moment to early...:).jpg&width=800&height=1066)
Gearing up for long runs. Good down here when running up the mountains in the heat. Last time I hade to carry a 1,5 litre bottle around which felt even more amatueristic than my running itself. Now, I feel like a pro:)
Good night.

Going heavy
2010-08-20
A day at Monte-Carlo Golf Club. First time i've played the actual course.
The course is crazy ondulated but fun to play. Heading over to Terre Blanche tomorrow for a sweet day on both courses over there. Terre Blanche is trying to make their place into a top of the art training institute for tour players to gather to train. Terre Blanche is for sure on the right track.
Unreal views from up Monte-Carlo Golf Club today.
I'm loving my heavy club to practice with. It's pretty heavy, maybe 3 kg. I have no clue actually but it feels like that. It makes me use my body good since you need it to hit the ball far. It's the loft of an 8 iron and I can hit it 135 meters maybe. I try to hit it as far as I can all the time to use my body in the best possible way. If it goes long and straight I'm happy...
Alarm for 5.30 again. Hate those numbers but it's ok when you've finally made it out of bed:)
