  From Ireland to Loch Lomond

  2010-07-07 Last two days have been hectic and super! 
  
  
  
  Warm up for the last round in Ireland. Amazing everything about this tournament. 50 000 spectators every day and yesterday I played in front of Samuel L. Jackson. That felt huge:)
  
  
  
  Adare Manor GC 18th, par-5. 
  
  
  
  Nice lunch afterwards.
  
  
  Super party following that ended around midnight for us. Our bus to the airport left at 6.30 this morning and many guest were just leaving the party after Westlife quit playing. JP McManus Pro-Am was great and it felt awesome being part of a big charity tournament. 
  
  
  
  
  
  Arrived in Scotland. 
  
  
  
  
  
  Practice in the afternoon. No practice round. Feels a little weird but I played here three years in a row so I should know the place. Worked a lot on the soft low shots today for next week when heading for The Open. Oh, yes, forgot. Pierre is back with his massage bench this week and his coffe drinking skills.   Day 1 JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am 2010

  Great day today at Adare Manor GC. JP McManus Pro-Am is the most rediculously cool tournament ever. It's the best field assembled in Europe this year and 56 of the world best players are here. 30 000 spectators are here each day!!! I would love to have known about this tournament earlier and I would have gone as a kid. 
  
  The tournament raises money to charities and has over the last 20 years raised over 50 million Euros. Eh....pretty great!
  
  Ok. So, the course is brutal and my game was pretty good. 73, one over par and 4 shots of the leader right now. Tiger is 5 over after 11 I saw earlier so it plays pretty tough.
  
  One more round and then off to Loch Lomond on wednesday for another stupidly awesome tournament. It's the best stretch now in the middle of the summer.

  Heat in Paris

  2010-07-02 Long day at National for us. Lightning suspended play and we just got done around 8.30 PM.
  
  
  
  Lorne Scott Duncan (Initials not needed to mention), takes a chill-off during lightning. 
  
  
  
  "Duncan" has a special deal signed off by the tour that ha can wear sandals on the course. He shouldn't be allowed taking them off though.

  Pierre gave me strict instructions to keep the bar close to the body. 
  
  This course is the best we play all year. It might have some strong challengers but it's up there. Variety in holes and clubs and now it's firming up. The fairways are running and you can get some seriously cool shots. 
  
  
  
  Pontus is back on tour. Nice to have you back. We've missed you...
  
  Finished off with two birdies to get to red numbers. It felt really good after nmaking nothing all day. Colin tried to keep my head up and focus on what to do instead of what happened.
  
  Two more days in the heat here and then off to Ireland and now when sitting in this 30 degrees or more hotel room, it wouldn't be too bad with rain for a while.

  Le Nacional

  In Paris. At Nacional du Golf just outside Paris actually. St:Quentin is the closest village. Versailles is very close too, where a lot of people are staying. Since I don't do much else than practice and watch 24 I decided to once again stay at the course. The hotel is not great not great but it's very warm in the room. No freezing here. No no.
  
  I've had the best two days of practicing yet this year. Yesterday, we had a great session with the club designer Roger Cleaveland. He has designed the new Callaway wedges "Jaws" which I use in 56 and 52 degrees lofts. He gave some good advice, tweeked my bounce on the wedges and I improved. He and my caddie Colin agrees on that 80 % of the training should be shortgame (putting included in that). I, for once, agree now. Maybe I've gotten smart. Probably not but the more shortgame I practice the better my long game gets and the less pressure I put on my long game. I still work on improving my technique with Fors.

  7th down the hill. 3 wood,  7 iron. This course plays so different from most courses on tour. You hit around 6-7 drives per round and the rest long irons or woods. Usually, we hit driver all the time.
